I have been using this board for some time along with my coworkers to try to get more value out of our Foglight infrastructure (moving to 5.5 now). We all have other work to do outside of Foglight stuff, and we've hit the ceiling on the amount of work we are able to handle ourselves. I finally got the approval to hire a full-time Foglight specialist for my tools and monitoring team in Columbus, Ohio. We have posted a job but are having trouble finding qualified candidates with Foglight expertise.

Job Description
Work with application developers across many different technologies to configure application monitoring with Quest Foglight. Be the primary point of contact for the AD teams working closely with developers to identify applications, key processes, interfaces, log files, and functions for monitoring. Document and identify recommended processes for a variety of technologies and platforms to use as a guide for monitoring.
Design, develop, test and implement application monitoring and configuration management for the organization. The candidate must be able to think outside of the box and create innovative solutions.
Required skills:
• 2 years experience using an enterprise application monitoring tool: Foglight, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli

• 2 years experience with Java and/or Groovy programming languages in a distributed computing environment is desired.
• 2 years experience supporting applications in an on call capacity to understand the challenges with application support.
• Some experience in development using multiple database platforms including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and MySQL is desired.
• Some experience in application development in multiple technologies including at least two of the following: Java/J2EE; .NET - C#, VB, ASP; PHP
• Some experience in multiple OS platforms and administration including: Unix, Linux and Windows
• Experience in data extract, migration, queuing, and replication facilities.
• Great written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• This position involves working with many developers and candidate must get along well with other developers.
• Desire and ability to learn new skills and help other team members whenever needed.
