I recommend two things to address this:
1- File a support case so we can help, and
2- Consult the tuning guide.

The tuning guide has VM-specific advice. The most common causes for slowness on virtual images are inappropriate amounts of memory (make sure you have 8Gb free and clear), and disk alignment of the image as performed by something like vOptimizer. I'm not familiar with the details of disk alignment, only the results. :)

Hope this helps!

Hi

We also had issues with the response time of dashboards in 5.2.6, we changed JVM settings and other items without much luck, but we did find when we upgraded to 5.5.4 it was a lot better.

Something to think about if you're looking at upgrading, save you spending time on improving 5.2.6.

To add to the ideas and suggestions from Geoff and Andy, I would also consider the settings for shares if you are running VMWare ESX. Too much contention for CPU or memory can sometimes impact performance. A support case will allow our Technical Support team to review your current settings and offer focused guidance.

Good luck. Let us know how things proceed.
